![]() How they can combine such wonderful fiber service with such a horrible website remains a complete mystery to me. So I can put off any chat with Verizon until…well, hopefully until the sun burns out. I would assume this will also work with equipment supplied by other WiFi vendors, but Eero, as expected, is just stupid easy. So: if you are getting Fios internet and have an Ethernet connection to your Verizon-supplied router from the ONT, you can just unplug the one router and plug in (at least) an Eero, and it will work just fine. I just unplugged the Fios router, plugged in the Eero, did what the Eero app said…and it worked just fine. The Verizon website helpfully suggests you can merge your Fios (home) and wireless accounts, but you need to have both accounts working online and it appears as if my Fios account is borked up in some way.ĭoes this ring a bell? Is there some obvious way to fix this? Or do I need to do the Interminable Chat thing to get it worked out?ĮDIT/Resolution: yeah so I did not have to do any of this lease-breaking stuff. Eero has very helpful directions on how to do this, but Step One is to log into the my Fios app to do the lease-breaking thing.īut all my attempts to do this (following successful password resets and username retrievals from the My Fios app) just give me a log on that shows just my Verizon wireless plan things, not my “home” (aka Fios) things. ![]() I would like to use a new Eero router I bought instead of the rented-from-Verizon router, for obvious reasons. ![]() So both my Fios and my phones work perfectly, just to get that out of the way.
